Twilight Sparkle... I think I finally understand now... your accident with that storm spell... not only did it cause Dash to end up in this world... but it somehow caused her to go backwards in age... which caused her to become a filly... and lose her memories of her actual life in Equestria... before the accident.

I understand now... that you've come here trying to correct your mistakes... but... to find Rainbow Dash... to take her in and raise her for 15 years as my own daughter, even though she's not a human... and she doesn't belong here... she IS the greatest thing that has EVER happened in my life... so great... I can't even bear to imagine... where the both of us would be right now... if I hadn't found her on that day... if that accident didn't take place...

So I ask of you... as her... adoptive father... can you really bring yourself... to violate your friend, Rainbow Dash...?
By making her forget about me... and her 'new' life here... even though it was your fault... that she ended up here as a filly...?
Can you really bring yourself to tear this family apart... even though we both know... that this is the right thing...?

Having said all of that, the effects of my impassioned plea... was nothing short of devastating.
Applejack, Rarity, and Pinkie Pie were sitting down and looking on at us with faces that were breaking up with sadness.
As for Fluttershy... she probably had it the worst. She was Rainbow Dash's very first friend since filly-hood.
The fact that Dashie had no recollection of the friendship between them was hard enough for her... but to understand the grim prospect that she was going to be separated from her adopted father... it was a bombshell for her... because I saw her lying completely flat on the floor in a weeping mess.
To be honest, her emotional devastation was probably the second worst compared to Twilight Sparkle... who was slightly trembling and further pushed to more tears after hearing those words.
She never expected that bringing back Rainbow Dash was going to be such a moral dilemma.
As a matter of fact, she was completely unprepared to hear the revelation that the accident also caused Rainbow Dash to become a filly of 4-to-5 years.
So to see and hear the sorrow of Rainbow Dash and her adoptive father trying to come to terms with what was going to happen... and to realize that this tragic and heartbreaking moment was happening because of her... it pulled so severely at the strings in her own heart that she sniffled and bowed her head to the floor in shame.
I could just barely tell from the slight trembling that she was feeling an ill sensation of weakness in all four of her legs, but she managed to stay upright.
Twilight Sparkle couldn't help now but start second-guessing herself: She came here with the resolve of bringing Rainbow Dash back home to Equestria and was fully convinced that it was the best thing for her and everypony else.
But now she was faced with the harsh reality that this was no longer the perfect solution for all of them and started having doubts about whether or not bringing Dash back to Equestria was really in the best interests for her and her adopted father.
Princess Celestia looked to her student and clearly saw that she was overwhelmed with grief.
Even her eyes began to well up with tears.

Twilight...?

Twilight Sparkle was now trying to fight back tears, and her crippling guilt, in order to answer back.

I'm... I'm alright... Princess... this is... my responsibility...

Twilight spent several seconds slowly raising her head until her focus was back on the rainbow Pegasus and her adoptive father.

If anything at all... I don't... deserve your forgiveness... and...

A few more painful seconds passed by before Twilight could figure out what to say.

You must promise each other... never to forget...
Because even though... you weren't meant to be together... you don't deserve... to forget each other...

With tears still running down her face, Twilight Sparkle then looked up to Princess Celestia.

Right, Princess...?

Celestia closed her eyes and nodded silently. Shedding a tear in the process.
More or less, this heartrending moment of Rainbow Dash and her adoptive father having to part ways... must've reminded the Princess of her own parents... as well as the tragic day where she had to banish her sister, Princess Luna, when she was consumed by an evil presence and became Nightmare Moon... and had to spend 1000 lonely years of ruling Equestria without her... until her student, Twilight Sparkle, returned her to normal with the Elements of Harmony.


As much as you and I... don't want to admit this... we both already know the truth, Dashie... you were born in Equestria...
That is your actual home... you don't belong here... you have to go back with them... to your real home...


But... I already AM home, daddy...!! I belong here with you...!!


No, you don't... You are limited here... only able to fly around the house... because you and I both know... that no one else must know about you... or else... or else... we would've been torn away from each other... by selfish people with bad intentions... that want to know more about you... and I could never... ever forgive myself if that were to happen...


I was only taking care of you... until this time would come... but I never thought it would be this painful...

Twilight Sparkle stopped for a moment upon hearing that, and then slowly turned her focus to him.

W... what for...?

For helping me... live a dream beyond my wildest imaginations...

Raising Dashie for 15 years... since she was only 4-to-5 years old... it gave me light... hope... and a new reason to live... but it couldn't have happened... without the accident...

So... eternal thanks... and forgiveness to you...

Your accident... became a miracle for me...

To hear him bestow forgiveness and thanks upon her, despite the facts that this whole incident was her fault, further pulled on Twilight's heartstrings, giving her pause for several seconds... before nodding her head to him and resuming the painful, but necessary, action that needed to be done.
